Meet Craig Gunter:

Founder of STM

I'm a former college athlete, a coach, and a parent of competitive athletes. I started STM to make college recruiting less confusing for families. I've seen how much time, money and emotion families put into youth sports. I've traveled more than 50,000 miles by car and air to tournaments, showcases and camps, and spent countless hours on the sidelines of soccer fields, basketball courts and volleyball courts.

Recruiting has become more competitive and more complicated, and families are left guessing: which steps to take, when to take them, and how to talk to college coaches. I wanted to simplify that.

Why I Left Corporate

Before STM, I spent 17 years in corporate financial services and became a Vice President. It was a good career, but it meant constant travel and being away from my family during the week. So I traded the suits for sweatpants and went all in on youth sports. What started as a passion became my purpose.

Those 17 years taught me things I still use every day: build real relationships, follow a disciplined process, communicate honestly, and earn trust when people are making big decisions. I've applied the same approach to college athletics, building relationships with coaches and programs across NCAA D1, D2 and D3, NAIA and NJCAA/JUCO.

Recruiting isn't just sending emails or making a list of schools. It's getting to know your athlete, finding the right opportunities, building a plan, making real connections with coaches, and following through so your athlete keeps moving forward instead of waiting to be discovered. My goal is to help you and your athlete move through this with confidence, purpose and a plan.

With STM, you can expect:

  • Clear direction when the process feels overwhelming

  • A plan built around your athlete

  • Honest, transparent communication

  • Accountability from start to finish

  • Real relationships with college coaches and programs.

How I Work:

The Experience Behind STM

Everything I do at STM comes from real experience. I've spent 17 years in corporate financial services, logged more than 50,000 miles at tournaments, showcases and camps, and spent countless hours on the sidelines as a coach and a parent. That experience taught me what families actually need: a clear plan, honest communication, and someone who has been through the process. It has also allowed me to build relationships with coaches and programs across every level of college athletics. Here's a quick look at the numbers behind it.
